April 2026
April is for getting the garden ready. The group added new mulch to the paths, built a new garden bed to replace a breaking one, and made 4 new round garden containers. And we caught a glimpse of some early spring growth - garlic and strawberries coming in strong!

The Mounds View Community Garden benefits the soil, as well as the soul: taking care of the earth and growing food while also building camaraderie and getting to know neighbors.

May 2026
In May, we filled our new garden beds with dirt and compost and did some planting.

June 2026
In June, there was a lot of weeding to do and some additional planting. A bunch of annual flowers were donated to the garden, so those were planted as well, especially in areas where the weeds were growing. The garden was thriving, and many of the plants were well established, including the bins of potatoes. Tim taught the group how to mound up potatoes so that more will grow. The group also had a chance to take home some of the spring harvest - mint, basil, and strawberries.

Coming soon - more pictures as the garden grows!
Check back throughout the year to see how the garden progresses. And stop by in person to see the plants up close and help take care of them! The Community Garden group meets every month on the second Saturday.
